It's a peaceful and very scenic trail along with safety due to lots of homes near by.

Lots of room, easy access. Trails are mostly flat, straight and the leaves are a changin'.

Great place to sit in a quiet area. Trail is paved and had great scenery. The parking lot had a bathroom in the summer months and lots of available spots to park

BEST TIME TO GO: Around 30 minutes before the sun begins to set.. the view is absolutely BREATHTAKING!!!! This place is certainly one of many, hidden gems that MI has to offer 💎 Its tucked away & the trail parking lot is very easy to miss. But once you park and head into the woods/dunes, you'll quickly realize that this beauty has a good selection of trails to take (some are man made, more like short cuts if you will). If you make it out there, I HIGHHHHLY RECOMMEND taking the trail that leads to the right (East), you'll climb a couple hills but OMMMMG is the view once at the top WORTH IT 😳❤ It overlooks all of downtown Ferrysburg (don't quote me, it may even be Spring Lake 🤷‍♀️), but it has the huge anchor up top there & right straight in front of you, down below is the Channel, over to the left is where the Gravel Train Haulers load & un-load the gravel at, and it's a small downtown view when looking straight ahead that holds some of the most beautiful landscaping I've ever seen (I have never seen grass so GREEN & well manicured)!! Anyhow, just be sure to take the right trail when heading back to your car. IF you do end up in unfamiliar territory, don't panic...there's 2 trails, each one takes you to the same starting point (we went up one trail and down the other...accidentally), either way, your not far into a huge forest or anything of the sorts...you'll find your way, just enjoy the scenery along the route taken (their all gorgeous)! This is a State Park by the way 😉 Hope this helps...If anyone chooses to go after reading this, please be sure to reply to share your experience w us 🌞

I love to walk my dog here. She is not a great walker, so the long straightaways help her stay on track. She also likes to cool off in black creek after a long walk. I have been experiencing a lot of deer flies here this year, but I still come back almost every day.
